El contraataque de Trump es poderoso, y lo es porque en una ciudadanía cada vez más polarizada es más sencillo dar a entender que es inocente y que hay un complot contra él; pero, y más importante, porque si ambos actuaron mal, para los independientes Biden deja de ser la persona en la que confiar. Y que piensen eso va muy bien para el futuro electoral de Trump, y muy mal para el de Biden.
Expertos dicen de él que tiene buena conexión con la población blanca, y con grandes y pequeños donantes, pero que no consigue darse a conocer entre las minorías. En cualquier caso, las cifras son un gran indicativo de que algo está haciendo bien.
El primer debate demócrata, que tendrá continuidad hoy, 27 de junio, «enfrentó» a Elizabeth Warren, Bill de Blasio, Cory Booker, Julián Castro, Beto O'Rourke, John Delaney, Tulsi Gabbard, Jay Inslee, Amy Klobuchar y Tim Ryan. No estaban Biden, ni Sanders, los dos líderes en las encuestas, pero sí una Elizabeth Warren que es la tercera favorita en la actualidad y que sigue subiendo.
Por ahora, son 24 los candidatos que se han presentado ya a las primarias demócratas, aunque pocos de ellos llegarán a Iowa, y todavía menos a New Hampshire. En campaña, el dinero, la visibilidad, los apoyos, pero también los resultados, tienen mucho que ver.
